Robert L.V. Beller, 94, formerly of Temple, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2016 in Midlothian. Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home located at 1826 W. Highway 287 Business in Waxahachie.
Robert was born on Feb. 24, 1922 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He loved his military years and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict. Robert was a dedicated soldier and was so proud to have served 20 years in the United States Army. After retirement from the military, he worked at First National Bank in Temple as the Accounts Receivable Officer for almost 20 years. Robert was a member of the First Baptist Church in Temple since 1952. He enjoyed the weekly couple’s volleyball games played at the church. Robert loved baseball and fishing. When his sons were little he coached their baseball teams and was always sure to attend their games as well as all their school functions and events. Robert was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Jim Beller and his wife, Linda; Larry Beller and his wife, Judy; grandchildren, Lori McQuillen and her husband, Scott; Greg Beller and his wife, Kellee; Todd Beller and his wife, Anne; Kyle Beller and his wife, Jennifer, and Amy Darwin and her husband, Chris; 15 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Norma Beller; his mother, Marie Walton; and numerous aunts, uncles and friends.
