MAYPEARL — Bringing the Maypearl Police Department up to fully-staffed, Officer Cliff Carr was sworn in yesterday by City Secretary Jeannie Evans.
Carr, a recent graduate of the Cedar Valley Law Enforcement Academy, has experience in law enforcement, including work as a Sergeant with the Mansfield Police Department and as a detention officer for both Dallas and Tarrant County Sheriff’s Offices. His most recent experience prior to his return to law enforcement was with Spacex in McGregor where he tested and inspected space capsules after they returned from the International Space Station. Carr is also a veteran of the US Army, having served from 1991 to 1997 and the Army Reserve since 2002.
After his swearing-in, Carr’s wife Debra ‘pinned’ him with his official badge. Once Carr has completed Field Training he will be a Patrol Officer.
“We are pleased to see our department back up to fully-staffed and we look forward to working with Officer Carr,” said Mayor Adele Mooney.
Police Chief Boyd Norton said, “Cliff Carr comes to us with a background in law enforcement and we are pleased to add him to our department. Cliff has entered into the Field Training Program and is expected to complete it around the middle of Jume.”
A “meet and greet” reception will be held within the next few weeks to allow Maypearl citizens a chance to meet the new personnel and to hear about special programs the Department is planning to implement. The exact date and time has not yet been determined.
