Teens at El Bethel Baptist Church had an initial goal of selling candy to provide complete Easter meals in a box for three families. The children sold candy and raised nearly $300 (their goal), with the assumption $100 would provide one whole meal.
Woodmen of the World matched the funds and provided another $300. With $600, the church’s EPIC Youth Program went shopping with faint hopes of purchasing meals for seven families. To their surprise, they purchased seven meals with $295. This meant they could purchase meals for seven additional families.
The youth group delivered the meals just in time for Easter on March 24 and 25.
