The Relay for Life of Central Ellis County announces this year’s relay 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. May 13, at the Waxahachie Sports Complex.

“We are very excited about this year’s event and want to invite anyone interested in starting a team to come to our Team Captain meeting on March 17, at the Red Oak Municipal Center located at 200 Lakeview Dr., Red Oak,” stated Beth Allen with Relay for Life of Central Ellis County.

“We would like to extend a special invitation to all cancer survivors and caregivers to attend the event this year,” Allen stated in a press release issued Wednesday. “Survivors are the reason that we Relay and the hope that one day we will find a cure so everyone will be a survivor. This year we also want to have more recognition for our caregivers. Without the love and support from caregivers the treatments for our cancer survivors would be that much more difficult.”
