To the Editor,

As many of you may know, I’ve recently been running for the position of Ellis County Commissioner of Precinct 1. After Election Day, I was lucky enough to lead in votes, and therefore qualify for the runoff election which will be held on May 24. While there is certainly still a long road and lots of work ahead, the fact that we have made it this far is amazing, and because of that I would like to say thank you.

Firstly, I would like to say thank you to the voters of Ellis County for getting me to this point. Whether they are friends and family that voted for myself, or someone who supported another candidate, every single voter deserves praise for going out and doing their civic duty.

Secondly, I would like to thank the other candidates that ran. This race was run with honor and respect, and that speaks volumes about the outstanding character of all those that participated in the race.

Lastly, I would like to thank the Waxahachie Daily Light for both treating all of the candidates fairly while also keeping voters informed about the race. Each and every individual and entity that participated in this race made some kind of difference, and regardless of who won or who supported who, I am extremely grateful for all of the effort that was put forth. Thank you all so, so much!

Bobby Crittenden,

GOP candidate

Ellis County Commissioner, Pct. 1
