Harold Woodard, 82, of Gun Barrel City, formerly of Waxahachie, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2016 in Dallas. He was born Oct. 6, 1933 in Red Oak to Henry G. and Eula Jane (Shelton) Woodard. Harold married Docklyn Shaw on May 25, 1956 in Waxahachie. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. They attended Water Street Baptist Church while living in Waxahachie. Harold and Docklyn lived on the lake at Gun Barrel City and Harold loved to fish. He also enjoyed being outdoors with the animals around his home, especially the squirrels he fed daily. Harold was a loving husband and father and was crazy about his grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Docklyn Woodard of Gun Barrel City; one son, Ricky Woodard of Sardis; five grandchildren, Lee Haun and husband Matthew, Diana Younts and husband Michael, Lindsay Woodard, Charlie Woodard and wife Amanda and Jacob Woodard; four great grandchildren, Cooper Stegal, Corbin Stegal, Presley Younts and Lukas Haun; daughter-in-law, Robin Woodard; two brothers, Austin Woodard and Kay Woodard and his wife Sandra; one sister, Wanda Shaw. Harold was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronnie Woodard; five brothers and one sister.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Graveside service and interment will be 1 PM Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Sardis Cemetery.
Following the graveside service there will be a reception at the Midlothian Conference Center, 1 Community Circle, Midlothian, TX 76065.
