Doors open for early voting, starting today Feb. 26, for local Democratic and Republican party primary elections.

Anyone who is registered to vote can participate in early voting, according to Texas law. Ellis County’s Elections Department establishes and staffs early voting locations throughout the area, with locations in Ennis, Midlothian, Palmer, Red Oak, with Waxahachie being the county seat.

Here’s where those polling locations are located and when you can cast your ballot before the March 1 primary.

 

Main early voting location:

•The Elections Office, located at 106 S. Monroe Street in Waxahachie

 

Dates and times:

8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 19

7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21

7 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 through Friday, Feb. 26

 

Satellite early voting locations dates and times:

• Midlothian Conference Center, located at 1 Community Circle Drive in Midlothian

• Fundamental Baptist Church, located at 203 W. Jefferson Street in Palmer

• Ellis County Sub-Courthouse, located at 207 S. Sonoma Trail in Ennis

• Red Oak City Hall, located at 200 Lakeview Pkwy in Red Oak

8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16 through Friday, Feb. 19

8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20

10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21

8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22 through Feb. 26

 

For those voting in person, a photo ID is now required. Voters can also vote early by mail if they’re 65 or older, disabled, in jail and not convicted of a felony or are expected to be out of the county during the early voting period and on Election Day, according to the Ellis County website.
