Polk City, Florida resident Jack Garza Howe, 97, died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife,Alice H. Howe and his siblings and their spouses, Georgia H. Summer (William C.), Elliott C. Howe, William L. Howe (Margaret) and great-grandson, David Bushey, Jr. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Anita Leitner, Louis Howe (Patricia), Suzanne Howe, William C. Howe, (Cathy) Georgia Craig (Tom); grandchildren, Jill Leitner, Steve Leitner, Bonnie Howe, Stephanie Bushey (David), David Howe, Beverly Howe, Casey Craig and Courtney Craig, and a great-grandchild, Johanna Bushey.

Mr. Howe graduated from LSU in 1939 and entered the United States Army Air Forces, serving in the European Theater through WWII. After discharge, he supported his family as a lawyer, specializing in oil and gas exploration. He made his home in Waxahachie from 1964 through 2006. His favorite activity was playing tennis.

The family will receive friends 6 - 8 pm Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at Bliley’s-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond , VA 23230, with a rosary at 7:45 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb.11, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 828 Buford Rd, Richmond, VA with interment to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia.
