Open to young ladies 0-26 years, the Texas Cinderella Scholarship Program is coming to Ellis County on Feb. 27, at Jack Lummus Intermediate School in Ennis.

The Cinderella Scholarship Program is considered to be the largest and most prestigious youth development program of its kind in the world. The organization awards more than $100,000 in college scholarship money and other prizes annually.

Cinderella is more than just a “beauty pageant.” It is a youth development program that starts at the local level. Contestants will compete in a group interview or baby playtime, casual wear, party wear, and photogenic. Contestants ages 7 and up will also compete in talent. Local winners will have the opportunity to advance to the Texas State Pageant, which will be held in Houston in June. It is there where more than $15,000 in college scholarships, cash, and other prizes will be awarded to Texas children. From there, the Texas winners will advance to the international finals to be held in Dallas, Texas in July.

Previous modeling experience is not necessary and special pageant clothes are not needed. Officials want “real kids in real clothes.” A free modeling workshop is provided prior to each preliminary pageant to help all of the contestants.

The Texas Cinderella Pageant is known for helping kids strive to follow their dreams and reach their highest potential.
