Taylor Publishing has recognized the SAGU yearbook staff with an Honorable Mention Certificate of Recognition for its dedication, effort and accomplishments. The SAGU yearbook is included in the 2010 Yearbook Yearbook. This is the fourth time the Southwesterner has been honored in the publication.
Taylor has been showing off great student work for 24 consecutive years through Yearbook Yearbook.
“Congratulations to every school recognized in this 24th edition,” said editor Marilyn Scoggins. “Taylor Publishing proudly honors the best of the best in Yearbook Yearbook and journalists across the nation will appreciate your stellar work as they make plans for their 2011 book.”
Yearbooks published by Taylor for the 2009 school year were evaluated in areas such as cover design, theme development, layout design and photo content. Taylor Publishing names only the top 15 percent of yearbook staffs each year.
“Being selected for Yearbook Yearbook is like being handed an Oscar, an acknowledgement of superior quality,” education specialist Judi Coolidge said. “Your work will be admired by thousands of student journalists who use Yearbook Yearbook as an inspiration to ignite their creative process.”
This is the fourth time the Southwesterner, SAGU’s yearbook, has been included in Taylor’s Yearbook Yearbook. Previous inclusions were in 2001, 2004 and 2008.
“I’ve felt extremely proud of the staff that worked on the honored book, especially editor Kayla Taylor,” said Diane Lewis, SAGU yearbook adviser. “I’m amazed to see how much SAGU students can accomplish. I think the awards come because of our students’ creative abilities, specifically in the area of photography, page layout and cover design. I’m extremely proud of our students and honored to be a part of their endeavors.”
