National Senior Citizens Day is Aug. 21

Our elders are essential to our communities, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension celebrates National Senior Citizens Day by encouraging them to stay active and strong. “One of the most important things you can do for your health as you age is to engage in regular physical activity,” said Erica Reyes, Program Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension.

Longing for old school

I’m hungry for the way it used to be. I look around and find it harder and harder to tolerate rude behavior, disrespect, contempt, and insolence. What was it that Captain Woodrow Call said in Lonesome Dove, “I hate rudeness in a man, just won’t tolerate it.”
