Nelson Lions power past Arlington Baptist

The Nelson University Lions men's soccer team kicked off their 2025 campaign in front of a packed and energized home crowd at the Lions Athletic Complex, sending fans home happy with a thrilling 2–0 win over the Arlington Baptist University Patriots on Saturday night. After a summer of anticipation, the Lions echoed early and often as the squad delivered a strong statement that this season is about composure and finishing touches.

Nelson University establishes chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma

Nelson University has been accepted into the National College Athlete Honor Society as the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma (XAΣ), which recognizes four-year institutions who are members of an association or organization that promotes academic achievement and varsity level athletics competition while holding commitment to the principles of integrity, sportsmanship, and overall development of their student-athletes. Chi Alpha Sigma was founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, and continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
