TYLER — For just a second, it looked like the magic carpet ride for the Waxahachie Indians was about to end as host Tyler Legacy forced a rubber game with a Game 2 decision and then took a 3-0 lead in the deciding Game 3 of their area-round series on Saturday afternoon at Mike Carter Field.

I love catching catfish when they are biting on “tight line” on bottom, when they are in the flooded grass and willows during the spawn, over holes baited with soured grain and when they are “on the rocks” feasting on gar eggs. It goes without saying that having Jared Thomas as the No. 1 option on the mound is an important asset for the Waxahachie Indians in the Class 6A Region II playoffs. Especially if the string of hitless innings continues.
