Allen hires Wiginton to lead program

Shocking news greeted Heritage High School on Monday morning when Allen ISD announced that HHS head football coach Lee Wiginton has been named the new head coach of the Allen Eagles football program. Wiginton, who is president of the Texas High School Coaches Association, departs after seven seasons at HHS — since the school’s opening — and 13 total seasons within MISD.

Osaka loses to Anisimova at French Open PARIS – A year ago, Naomi Osaka left the French Open of her own volition, never beaten on the court but determining that she needed to pull out before the second round to stand up for herself and protect her mind more than she needed to do whatever she could to win matches. On Monday, Osaka departed Roland Garros against her will – via a 7-5, 6-4 loss in the first round to 20-year-old American Amanda Anisimova, who is seeded 27th and also won their contest at the Australian Open in January – after taking a painkiller to try to deal with a troublesome left Achilles tendon.

Squirrels possibly the perfect small game

Why would I think Mr. Busheytail is the perfect game animal? The reasons are many; squirrels are very challenging to hunt and pursuing them greatly increases one’s hunting knowledge; they will teach you to become a better hunter! Squirrels are also plentiful across much of the state and finding a place to hunt them is usually easy. Finding a farmer or rancher receptive to allowing you to hunt deer can be challenging but the same folks will often open their gates to squirrel hunters. The fact that squirrels are excellent in a pot of dumplings or served with cream gravy and biscuits adds much to a squirrel hunt albeit fewer and fewer people today are aware of just how tasty squirrel meat can be.
