Heritage High ready to start new era at Class 5A level with Edwards at helm The origin of Heritage High School’s rise to Class 5A began in 2016, at the very beginnings of the school, when Midlothian ISD voters approved a bond issue referendum that eventually would expand HHS’ capacity to 5A-size. It took six years for the plan to come to completion, but the Jaguars this fall will join the 5A ranks for the first time.

Young Ennis Lions start season with returning QB Gilkey, but lots of new faces ENNIS — The past 2 years have ended way too early for the Ennis Lions, a perennial playoff team that has the ability to make a long run into December but they have played a team that has “Caught lighting in a bottle” for the year and they fall short. This will be a year that opens with far more questions than answers.
