The Waxahachie Lady Indians put themselves in position to contend for at least a share of the District 11-6A championship on Friday night as they rode the hot bat of Savannah Porter and a strong night in the pitcher’s circle by NaLee Nichols to a surprisingly-easy 12-2 road victory over Class 6A No. 9-ranked Duncanville.

Midway, the District 12-6A champion, was the host team, but the Indians (13-4-4) neutralized the advantage with less than two minutes elapsed as Billy Yonce took a pass deep in the box and flicked the ball into the corner of the goal, making it 1-0 in favor of the Tribe.
