The Waxahachie Lady Indians remained unbeaten in the early part of District 11-6A play on Tuesday evening with a 2510, 25-16, 25-8 domination of Duncanville at Mike Turner Gymnasium during Teacher Appreciation Night.
DALLAS — Southwestern Assemblies of God University and Randall University, the NCCAA-affiliated squads, played a non-conference match on the lush fields of Moneygram Soccer Park. With multiple shots at the net from Kyra Smith, Breanna Suhr, and Kaaliyah Joseph, the Lady Lions took a 4-1 victory.

Red Oak drops district opener in OT; Midlothian, Palmer stay perfect FERRIS — Thanks to a school-record rushing performance by Kordell Berry, the Life High School Waxahachie Mustangs are in the win column for the first time in 2022. Berry ended the night with a whopping 336 yards and ran for five touchdowns as the Mustangs rallied in the second half to beat the Ferris Yellowjackets, 50-37, on Friday in non-district action.
FRISCO — Cooper Rush won a game filling in for injured Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott last season, helping keep the Cowboys on track for the NFC East title. He’ll have to win more than that for Dallas to stay in contention this season.
ENNIS — Last Friday night, the Ennis Lions put the wraps on one of the most challenging non-district schedules that they have played in quite a few years. In what was a very competive contest with a confused at best outcome, the Lions fell to an 0-3 record, with a 23-20 loss at the hands of the Colleyville Heritage Panthers.
FLOWER MOUND — Sophomore Graham Scott turned in another strong race on Saturday, finishing seventh to lead the Waxahachie cross country Indians to a fifth-place finish at the Flower Mound Invitational.
SURPRISE, Ariz. — The Southwestern Assemblies of God University football team continued their 2022 season by traveling to Spirit Field on Saturday night to play Ottawa University Arizona.
The Waxahachie Lady Indians got stronger as the match progressed on Tuesday night, and came away with a three-set sweep of Keller Timber Creek, 25-22, 25-17, 25-13, at Mike Turner Gymnasium. The Lady Indians (22-10) had only three serve-receive errors in the entire match, which was their final tune-up for the District 11-6A schedule.
The Waxahachie High School tennis team remained undefeated in District 11-6A play with a win at Duncanville on Tuesday afternoon, 12-7. The Indians opened district play on Aug. 23 with a 17-2 win over Cedar Hill, and their Aug. 30 match against DeSoto was canceled. Their next match will be Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Mansfield Legacy at WHS.
