Shelby Jean Weaver, age 84, of Waxahachie, passed away on Saturday, June 4th, 2022. She was born November 30, 1937 in Arkansas to William & Zelma Spradling. She Resided in Dallas, owned an office supply store in Duncanville, then went to work as a Bookkeeper for Dr. Stringfellow in Dallas. She then retired to Athens, Tx. and volunteered at ETMC until she moved back to Waxahachie in 2018. Shelby was a hard working Mother who loved her family dearly.
Mary Pat was born in Dallas, Texas to Thomas C. Unis and Dorothy Joseph Unis on April 26, 1951. She graduated from Ursuline Academy, and from the University of Dallas with honors. She married Royal Cullen Eubank, Jr. and lived in Waxahachie Texas until 2012. Mary Pat was an avid reader, tennis player, civic volunteer and loved to travel. She served in the Junior Service League of Waxahachie, the TTCD Tennis Club, Book Club, the Heirloom Club, and she and her daughter, Angela, sang in the choir at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Heaven became even more real to Kerry’s family when he passed away at his home on May 28,2022 at the age of 67. He had battled cancer this past year.
Wilda Naoma (Kimble) Thornton went to her Heavenly home May 29, 2022. She was born to William Hartwell Kimble and Mada Elizabeth (Hill) Kimble on April 23, 1921, on the family farm near Panhandle, Texas; followed by twin siblings Billy Kimble and Bernice (Kimble) Brewer. She graduated from Panhandle High School in 1939. Naoma enrolled in West Texas State Teachers College, in Canyon, Texas, now West Texas A&M University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1945. Her first teaching job, after graduation, was in Portales, New Mexico. A year and a half later she moved to Amarillo, Texas, to teach 5th grade. It was in Amarillo that she met the love of her life, Olin Thornton. They were married for 63 years. Together they lived a life of devotion to their family and church in Amarillo for more than 50 years.

Shirley Rae Johnson [ our Mother / Granny / GG ] passed away May 14, 2022 in Waco Texas. She is at peace and pain free. She was born June 1, 1927 in Dallas Texas, the daughter of George A. and Mary Edith Warren.
The final dismissal bell rang for life-long educator, Dr. Joy Shaw, on Tuesday morning, May 10, 2022. Dr. Shaw had a legendary career as a teacher, principal, district administrator and school board member for the Red Oak Independent School District. She was a Red Oak High School alumna, graduating in 1956, and the mother of four ROHS Hawks, Deborah, Pamela, Rhonda and Scott. She dedicated her life to making ROISD a stronger, better place for her kids and for all kids. She believed like Pakistani activist, Malala Yousafzai that“One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”
