Life School TAFE competitors advance to nationals

Life School is on mission to not only educate, but also prepare students for a pathway in college, career or the military following graduation. Under the umbrella of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is the Education and Training program at Life High School Waxahachie. The program of study consists of two years of study and two years of hands-on classroom experience and is designed to prepare students for a career in teaching beyond high school.

Praying in public should support interfaith etiquette

Recently, I gave an impromptu prayer at a public meeting wherein I ended the invocation with “… in the Name of Christ.” Immediately, I realized that this prayer ending which I use personally and with my church family was inappropriate and disrespectful in this public setting, even though it was not intentional. Following the meeting, I quickly went to a known Jewish friend who was present and offered an apology for my mental lapse.

What’s next after Red Oak ISD bond package fails?

Red Oak ISD officials are asking themselves two questions after voters rejected the $230.1 million bond package last weekend – why and what’s next? On May 7, residents voted against four propositions the Citizens Facility Planning Committee had recommended to address growth and aging facilities around the district. Proposition A, which totaled $156.8 million, failed with 53.7 percent of the voters (1,784 votes) against it and 1,534 voting in favor.

Minister: Pope postpones visit to Lebanon for health reasons BEIRUT – Pope Francis has postpone a planned visit to Lebanon next month due to health reasons, a Lebanese Cabinet minister said Monday. Minister of Tourism Walid Nassar did not specify the ailment, but the pope is known to be suffering acute knee pain that has greatly curtailed his mobility in recent months.
