Tax abatements and economic performance agreements are related matters. The Ellis County Commissioners’ Court touched on both during Tuesday’s regular bi-weekly meeting as the court considered both a new economic performance agreement and changes to its abatement policy.
The Ferris Fire Department responded to two fires Tuesday, including one that destroyed a house. The city’s fire department was called to a brush fire around 1:34 p.m.
“Why not look for a way to save our taxpayer’s money across the board? That is really what we are looking at,” said Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams last week after City Hall and the Independent School District recently combined individual strengths creating a stronger synergy within the city overall.
