Widow Support Group hosts guest speaker

On Aug. 2, the Widow Support Group of Ellis County (AKA “Soul Sisters”) gathered in the Waxahachie home of Ruth Gibson for their monthly meeting of food and fellowship. The guest speaker was Sharon Mondragon, author of “The Unlikely Yarn of the Dragon Lady.” To emphasize her public reading, Mondragon supplied each lady with a prayer shawl, prayerfully knitted by a parishioner of St. Paul Episcopal Church in Waxahachie. The Widow Support Group exists to meet the emotional, spiritual, and social needs of widows in Ellis County. The ministry functions under the umbrella of The Anchor Home, a 501(c)3, also housed in Ellis County.
