Popular rom-com swings back into local theatre

Theatre Rocks! artistic director Bill Rhoten loves a good period piece, and local audiences seem to love the way he writes them. His “Greatest Generation Trilogy” plays featuring the Erhard family in 1940s Texas have been among the most popular of recent Theatre Rocks! shows. Now audiences have a chance to once again – or for the first time – see where the saga started, as “My First Date” returns to the intimate Ennis theatre through Sunday.

Minnesota State Community and Technical College Zion Dove of Ennis, liberal arts and Sciences-AA, was among 590 graduates at Minnesota State Community and Technical College for the 2022 spring semester. Howard Payne University Katherine Hughes of Waxahachie was named to the President’s List for the spring 2022 semester at Howard Payne University.

WISD seeks Lighthouse for Learning teachers

Waxahachie ISD will continue its “Lighthouse for Learning” community education program, which provides adults the opportunity to become lifelong learners, this fall. Classes are held on Monday and/ or Thursday nights in both the fall (October-December) and spring semesters (March-May.) The fall semester begins in September, and the district is looking for community members who wish to help enrich the community through teaching a Lighthouse for Learning class.
