Letter to the Editor: The importance of Christmas lights

So, it being after Thanksgiving and all the chaos and anxiety that we endure in the annual torrent of consuming in a manner more than we deem as necessary to gift people around us to show we love them and hope they still like us after opening their presents, that I decided to forgo the early game and put up the Christmas lights on the house before it was suggested. That pay it forward thing.

Teaching kids about giving

On the quest to raising good humans, I realize that most people tend to use the holidays as a teachable time for kids. We encourage the need to do good for others who might have less than we do as we donate food, toys, money and help in our communities and beyond.
