Each month during the school year, Rotary Club of Waxahachie honors a student from Waxahachie High School for their outstanding achievements. It is always with great pleasure that the Rotarians welcome these students who have proven themselves to be good citizens and outstanding students.
In this week’s meeting, Al Benskin, principal of Waxahachie High, had the honor of introducing one of the three top ranking students for the class of 2016 as the Student of the Month for April.
Max Navarro, son of Mike and Misha Navarro, ranks third in his class. He is designated student of the month for April, 2016, for his academic and community service achievements.
As an avid musician and singer, Max has made the Texas All-State Choir three times and has been a part of WHS Choir and Musical Theatre departments since his freshman year.
Max plans to attend Texas Christian University in the fall, where he plans to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. Max, also, plans to receive his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree. Beyond working toward those achievements, Max will be a part of the John V. Roach Honor College.
Upon completing his education, Max plans to teach math at the collegiate level and perform independent research.
It is an honor for the Rotary Club to acknowledge such an outstanding student and citizen as Max Navarro. A plaque with his name on it will hang in the halls of Waxahachie High for many years to come.
