Subway and Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Super Team announced the final two weeks for the Most Valuable Player ballots on Tuesday via Facebook and Waxahachie High School senior quarterback Jordan Kitna still holds the No. 1 spot after being one of 300 athletes in Texas to be named as a finalist earlier during the month. He was nominated for the quarterback MVP category on Nov. 12 after posting 1,906 yards, 20 touchdowns and three interceptions. The MVP quarterback pool, which began with 43 and dwindled to five on Dec. 14, has shrunk to only two.

Though Kitna’s vote totals lead all players, regardless of position, he is not the only quarterback in contention, per the Subway Super Team website. Hewitt Midway High School’s Sam Glaesmann, as of Friday, sat No. 3 on list of overall vote getters. Winners will receive recognition from Subway and be presented with an award trophy, per Robel Melesse of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Fans have the opportunity to vote by going to http://www.texasfootball.com/SubwaySuperTeam. Fan voting closes Thursday and the winner will be announced the next day.
