The driver of a tractor-trailer escaped unscathed after his vehicle rolled over onto its side Thursday.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at 10:54 a.m. on the U.S. Highway 287 service road in front of Waxahachie Autoplex.

The tractor-trailer truck was coming off of the Interstate 35E exit ramp onto the U.S. Highway 287 service road, said Cpl. Josh Oliver, with the Waxahachie Police Department.

“It looks like he lost control of the trailer and the trailer flipped over on its side here on the 287 service road. He then slid to a stop in the grassy medium.”

No other vehicles were involved with the accident, Oliver said.

“It looks like it broke about half way in the middle. The back end is twisted, but the front end of the cab is still pretty much intact. We have got a heavy duty wrecker en route to flip it back over on its side.”

Waxahachie police officers blocked one lane of the service road while they worked the accident. “We are just really grateful that there were no injuries and no other vehicles were involved,” Oliver said.
