Born Oct. 30, 1967, in Los Angeles, California, to Joseph Manuel Bento and Renee Diane (Berger) Bent, Joe grew up in Los Angeles with his sister Melissa. He graduated from San Diego State University with his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1990.
While working on that degree, he met Kathryn Ann Holliday, whom he married on May 16, 1992. The new couple initially settled in San Diego, California. Joe continued his education and earned his master’s degree in Business Administration in 1993. In 1997, Joe and Kathy moved to Waxahachie and started their family. Hannah was born July 1998, Sarah was born February 2002, and Joseph was born May 2005.
During his career, Joe worked for several different companies as an analyst and efficiency expert. Joe was active in his church community, where he performed in many of the drama programs. He had the opportunity to travel overseas to Cambodia for a mission trip. Joe was an active member of the school board at Waxahachie Preparatory Academy. He participated in Boy Scouts with his son and attended multiple “boy band” concerts with his teenage daughters. He enjoyed sport fishing, classic cars, music, and traveling.
Joe passed away unexpectedly on July 10, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father; uncle, Marty Berger; grandparents, Michael and Szerena Berger and grandparents, Joseph and Alice Bento.
He is survived by his wife Kathy; his three children, Hannah, Sarah, and Joseph; as well as his mother, Renee Bento; his sister, Melissa Bento; and his brother, Daniel Suib. He is loved and missed by family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Services for Joe will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015, at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service at the Palmer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund at Park Meadows Church in Waxahachie.
