Ellis County Republican Women (ECRW) members will hear a presentation on applying game-theory at their next meeting.
The ECRW will convene at 7 p.m. on July 21 at the Cotton Gin Venue on the second floor of the Historic Rogers Hotel in downtown Waxahachie.
The guest speaker Jay Niswonger will present the XY Game with audience participation and other game-theory concepts.
During the last three and a half years, Niswonger has worked for Document Solutions, a platinum Xerox agency, as a sales representative in the Ennis Area. Before moving to Texas three and a half years ago, he worked as a lawyer in California for nearly 20 years.
During that time, he became active in alternative dispute resolution and trained as a mediator. Niswonger has successfully mediated a variety of legal disputes, including personal injury matters, eminent domain issues, professional malpractice cases, contested wills and trusts, property rights, etc. He has also arbitrated a number of cases and worked as an arbitrator for new car warranty disputes (lemon-law cases).
Due to his experience as a mediator and arbitrator, Niswonger became interested in game theory and developed the program he will present this month to introduce others to game-theory concepts.
