Linda Sue Elliott, 68, of Avalon, passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 in Denton. She was born on Jan. 15, 1947 in Avalon to the late Lester and Velma Southard Guthrie.
Linda was a small town girl that lived in and around Avalon all of her life. She loved everything about the outdoors: camping at the lake, fishing, gardening, landscaping and took great pride in making her house a home. She will be missed and continually loved by so many.
She is survived by her children, Joe G. Venable Jr., Michelle Thomas, Stephanie Wheeler, Michael L. Elliott Sr., LaDonna Lewis; her sister, Jane Cooper; her grandchildren, Justin Venable, Meagan Venable, Wade Venable, Raylee Thomas, Drew Wheeler, Tonya Walker, Leah McClarry, Michael L. Elliott Jr., Jason Wynns and Amanda Ondrusek; her great-grandchildren, Parker Mims, Emma Walker, Bowen McClarry, Lula Wynns, Hagen Ondrusek, Drew Walker, Lily McClarry, Lelu Wynns and William Ondrusek.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Lee Elliott; her parents, Lester and Velma Guthrie; her brothers, Billy Guthrie and Robin Guthrie; her sisters, Diane Watson and Mildred Lowrey.
Services to celebrate her life are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, 2015 in the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Bro. Grady Cashion officiating. A private interment will be held at Hughes Cemetery.
Linda has struggled with the progression of Alzheimer’s disease for several years. However, she is now in the presence of all her loved ones that preceded her and is no longer suffering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org in Linda’s name.
