To the Editor,

Some of the most fulfilling years in my 40 year career were spent as superintendent for Midlothian ISD Duke Burge played a large role in making my tenure in Midlothian ISD enjoyable and productive one for the school district. Duke clearly understands the role of a board of trustee and the role of the superintendent. He was a passionate advocate for the children of the school district and the taxpayers.

We didnít always agree on every issue, but he never held a grudge and had the maturity to understand that even though we might disagree on one issue, we always agreed on the shared goals for the school district. These goals regarded supporting teachers, designing engaging work for students, and protecting the best interest of the taxpayers.

With a new superintendent beginning his tenure in Midlothian ISD, the district needs a seasoned and experienced board member who understands the role of the superintendent and the role of a board member. Midlothian ISD has a long-standing history of a highly professional dedicated staff and high academic performance. Duke Burge, along with other board members, have done much to create and maintain that reputation. I wholeheartedly endorse Duke Burge for re-election as a Midlothian ISD board member. Midlothian ISD has been fortunate and will be fortunate in the future to have Duke Burge as a Midlothian ISD school board member.
