To the Editor,
I am writing to endorse TJ Henley for the Midlothian City Council, Place 5. I got to know TJ when he and I participated together in the Leadership Midlothian program of 2009. During the ensuing years, my husband and I have become friends with TJ and his wife, Wendy, and during that time we have gotten to know TJ as a loving family man, an astute business man and a man of God with a deep faith that defines every area of his life.
Having already proven to be an exemplary servant to his community and, in particular, to the Midlothian City Council, he is the obvious choice for Place 5 on the May 9 ballot. TJ brings to the table the financial expertise to help ensure the city budget continues to be balanced; TJ takes great pride in the part he played in balancing the budget during his time on the city council.
TJ is no stranger to the way local government works, having served on the park board two years prior to being elected to the city council in 2012. He is as comfortable listening to and debating many different points of view of Midlothian citizens as he is carrying out his daily business as owner of Prime Lending as a mortgage professional. More importantly, however, he always filters his decisions and actions through a deep-rooted set of Christian values.
He is committed to making Midlothian a safer place and is working to see expansion of the state highways that go through Midlothian as well as local travel corridors, and the importance of family is evidenced in his efforts as city councilman to improve the city’s relationship with the Midlothian Independent School District. J remains dedicated to expanding the education opportunities in Midlothian and is already working with leaders in Austin to explore how they can help.
As I examine the years I have known TJ Henley, I remain steadfast in my belief that he is the right choice for Midlothian City Council, Place 5 on May 9.
In summary - I trust and respect TJ Henley.
Midlothian Resident since 2008
