To the Editor,
I am very pleased to announce the opening of one of our favorite restaurants here in Waxahachie.
We have been a loyal customer of “Cowboy Chicken” since the mid ‘80’s when their only store was on Northwest Highway across from Bachman Lake. It was there I had the pleasure of meeting the founder, Phil Sanders, and learned a new and innovative way to enjoy chicken along with many delicious side dishes.
Then several years ago we met a young man by the name of Sean Malcolm, at the Greenville Avenue store, who was in the process of trying to buy the “Cowboy Chicken” name and concept from the founder, Phil Sanders. We have had many occasions to be in the Greenville Avenue area around the lunch hour and started a campaign to get them to look at Waxahachie as a great place to open a new store. It is obvious they were listening because their newest store is now open and operating in the building adjacent to Little Caesar’s Pizza on Highway 77 just north of Braum’s. Since they opened a week or so ago we have managed to eat lunch there three times and were glad to see the food, service, and professional management were as good as we have always experienced.
In addition to great food in the restaurant, food to go by phone order and online, and full catering service we were told by the managers, Mike and Don, they will start deliveries after they get the initial training done.
Please join us, our family, and everyone we have ever referred to Cowboy Chicken in wishing them well and welcoming them to Waxahachie and Ellis County.
A side note: their peach cobbler is the best I have ever eaten and a scoop of Blue Bell doesn’t hurt either!
