Delma Nevada Lisman Farrar, 102, passed away in Ennis on Jan. 1, 2015.
Delma was born in Ennis on Dec. 22, 1912 to James E. and Minnie (Crawford) Lisman. She grew up in Garrett, Texas and graduated from Garrett High School. She married Lynn F. Farrar on Jan. 10, 1942. They made their home in El Paso until 1967, Irving, Texas until 1972 then to Albuquerque, N.M. then to El Paso and finally to Ennis in 2005.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in El Paso and the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, coin and stamp collecting. She also enjoyed working on family genealogy, and sudoku puzzles. She was a poet and had her poetry published.
She is survived by two daughters: Janis Lynn Farrar and Nancy Ellen Farrar; one sister, Olene Lindner; nephews: Wallace Hughey, Ray Hughey, Ray Lindner, Bob Lindner, Paul Lindner and James Lisman and one niece, Sharon Baxter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lynn Farrar on Dec. 31, 1983, infant brother, Onis Lisman, brother, James A. Lisman; two sisters, Doris Hurley and Lois Hughey and two nieces, Sue Peace and Audrey Cashion.
Graveside services will be held on at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 in the Smith Cemetery of Rockett, Texas with Ray Lindner officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
