Each month the Waxahachie Rotary Club acknowledges an outstanding student from local high schools for superior citizenship and scholastic accomplishments The club is pleased to present Waxahachie High School senior, Lexye Meeks, daughter of Delaine Meeks, as the winner of the November 2014 “Student of the Month” award.
Mr. Al Benskin, principal of WHS, introduced Meeks to the club in this week’s meeting as an exceptional student of WISD. She is a member of the National Honors Society and was awarded the Trustee’s Academic Award for her high GPA and high class rank.
Meeks is very active in both school and community service activities that keep her life busy and fulfilled.
As an avid lover of theatre, Meeks has been involved in theatre tech for the last three years. She enjoys painting and designing the props and sets for theatre productions. She is also in advanced theatre and was Stage Manager for the 2014 fall play, Our Town.
Rotary is so pleased to acknowledge this outstanding young lady as Student of the Month for WHS. A plague was presented to Meeks by Rotarian Russell Clark, for her superior accomplishments while attending Waxahachie High School. This plaque will be permanently displayed in the halls of the school for all to see and enjoy for years to come.
