The Waxahachie Lady Indians golf team won first place at the Waxahachie Winter Classic Golf Tournament last weekend. The tournament was held at the Waxahachie Country Club.

The Lady Indians shot 377 and 370 to finish only three shots back for the win against Justin Northwest, who shot 374 and 382, on Saturday.

The Lady Indians were led by senior Kristian Fater who shot an 89 and 86, which placed her in second overall. Katelynn Willis finished second for the Lady Indian golfers. Willis shot a 97 and 87 to finish her round of play in the tournament, she came in fourth place overall. Other Waxahachie Lady Indians scores include Victoria Garza who shot a 95 and 98, Hannah Ensinia marked 96 and 99 and Veronica Cruz scored a 98 and 105. Medalist Madison Warren shot 99-109.

This was the first tournament win for the Lady Indians this year. Friday also marked the first round that all the Lady Indians broke 100 in scoring.

Friday and Saturday’s tournament was the last one of the fall season and the Lady Indians will start preparing for the upcoming spring season.
