The fans who came out to watch the varsity lady Indians volleyball team last night got their money’s worth after an exciting, five-set against the Mansfield Summit Jaguars.

After losing the first two sets, Summit put up a fight against the Indians and stormed back from behind to win the next two.

The Indians would play catch-up throughout the third and fourth set, but couldn’t get back in the lead.

By the fifth and final set Solis Gym was alive with fans from both teams, who were gasping in shock and cheering.

Waxahachie would eventually regroup in the fifth set, securing the win, 15-10.

“I’m very pleased with the effort and fight of our team. This was an intense ‘playoff-like’ atmosphere with a large, loud crowd supporting both teams,” said head coach Sandy Faussett. “It was great to see the cheerleaders, student body, and communities members come out to support the girls in such a way.”
