The 2014 Ellis County Crops Tour will be held July 1, with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. at the Avalon Gin, 123 Main St., in Avalon.

There is a $15 registration fee and participants will receive up to 5 CEU’s.

Participants are encouraged to register before Friday, June 27 by calling 972-825-5175.

Stops on this year’s tour will be:

Corn Variety Plot — Johnston Farms

Cotton Variety Plot —Beakley Farms

Sunflower Variety Plots —Beakley/Texas A & M

Lunch — Hi View Park

This year’s scheduled program speakers are: Dr. Ronnie Schnell,  Dr. Gaylon Morgan and Dr. Paul Baumann, Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service; Larry Eubanks and Bashir Dualle, Farm Service Agency; Beau Brooks,  NRCS,  Mark Arnold, Texas A & M AgriLife Extension Service,  plus various ag industry pepresentatives and personnel.
