The Red Oak High School Swim teams competed in the District 12-4A Meet last Saturday at Rockwall Aquatic Center.
Overall, the girls finished second place, and the boys finished third place.
Hunter Lavender was named 4A Male Swimmer of the Meet, which is quite an accomplishment. Almost all of the swimmers will be swimming at the Regional Meet on Feb. 7 and 8 in Frisco.
The 200M medley relay team consisting of Benjamin Stanfill, Eric Carillo, Lavender, and Malachi Brown placed third earning bronze medals.
Danielle Scott was eighth in the 200M freestyle, and Austin Vent finished tenth in the 200M freestyle.
Madison Spratt finished in second place in the 200M IM; while teammates Sayla Luna and Jessi Herrada placed third and fourth in the event.
In the 200M IM, Benjamin Stanfill placed fifth and Eric Carrillo finished seventh.
Sarah Sicillano came in tenth in the 50M freestyle, while Andrea Flores finished right behind her in 11th place.
Lavender took the gold medal in the 50M freestyle and Brown stole the bronze in the event.
Amber Wester took home a second place medal in the 100M butterfly. Sayla Luna finished fifth and Herrada finished sixth in the fly.
Bryce Stephens was sixth in the 100M butterfly.
100M freestyle swimmers were Sarah Sicilliano who came in eighth place and Carolina Segura, who finished 10th.
Lavender took home another gold medal in the 100M freestyle. Justin Vent finished eighth place in the 100M freestyle and Arles Martinez came in 12th in the event.
Melissa Prince and Danielle Scott finished fourth and fifth in the 500M freestyle.
Stephens and Austin Vent came in sixth and seventh in the 500M freestyle.
Both the girls and boys teams took the bronze medals in the 200M freestyle relays; swimming on the girls relay was Scott, Sicilliano, Melissa Prince and Amber Wester. The boys team consisted of Justin Vent, Stephens, Brown and Lavender.
Madison Spratt was fifth in the 100M backstroke.
Benjamin Stanfill finished fourth in the 100M backstroke, while team mate Justin Vent finished eighth.
Melissa Prince and Segura finished fourth and sixth in the breaststroke. Brown and Eric Carillo finished fifth and sixth in the Boys 100M breaststroke.
The 400M free relays both finished fourh place. Danielle Scott, Jessi Herrada, Sicilliano and Segura swam for the girls team while Benjamin Stanfill, Justin Vent, Eric Carillo and Austin Vent swam for the boys.
Out of the teams 17 swimmers who competed in the district meet, 15 swimmers qualified for the Regional Meet.
Regional qualifiers are: Lavender, Brown, Justin Vent, Austin Vent, Wester, Scott, Prince, Luna, Herrada, Stephens, Carillo, Spratt, Segura, Sicilliano and Stanfill.
