The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office and county employees honored retiring Deputy Clifford and Sgt. Sandra Stacks with a reception Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2013, at the Courts and Administration Building.

Sheriff Johnny Brown presented the retiring couple with their Ellis County Sheriff’s Retiree ID cards, and their Division supervisor, Lt. Michael Tobey, presented them with individual plaques for their service.

The plaques attested to their “many years of dedicated service to the citizens of Ellis County” as well as their having “set an example of hard work and professionalism for so many.”

Also recognizing Clifford and Sandra Stacks’ work was County Court-at-Law Judge Gene Calvert Jr. As part of their duties with ECSO, each had served stints as bailiffs in his courtroom.

Clifford Stacks began his peace officer career with ECSO in July 1996. His duties through the years included serving as an animal control officer and as a bailiff.

Sandra Stacks started her career at ECSO as a jailer in January 1992. In October 1995, she became a peace officer and worked as a bailiff and transport. She promoted to sergeant over Civil/CHS/Warrants/Transport/ACO in January 2012.
