The Midlothian Downtown Business Association is taking entries for its 12th annual Scarecrow Festival. The deadline to enter your business, organization (non-business) or school is Friday, Sept. 27.

Contestants can set up their scarecrows from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 and from noon–6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 to be on display the whole month of October at Heritage Park. This year’s theme is “Fads and Fashions.” The entry fee is $10.

Local residents can vote for their favorite at the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Festival at the MDBA booth. Winners for first, second, third and People’s Choice awards will be announced at 2 p.m. at the Fall Festival. Judging is limited to one vote per person and the MDBA judges will choose the first, second and third place winners who will receive a cash prize of $50, $25 and $10, respectively. Scarecrows must be picked up on Friday, Nov. 1 no later than 4 p.m.
