Waxahachie native David Eaton will speak this Sunday at Waxahachie Bible Church on the history behind Easter.
Eaton is the founder of Colorado-based Axis Ministries. He speaks to churches, middle school, high school and college students around the world about faith and how to live their faith each day.
“David Eaton grew up here in Waxahachie and went to Waxahachie High School. He went off to college and then started a ministry called Axis Ministries. Their mission statement and logo is from apathy to action. It is challenging people to examine their faith and implement their faith in real practical ways,” Waxahachie Bible Church Senior Pastor Bruce Zimmerman said. “Over the last several years he has ministered to more than 50,000 students. There are several teams that go out with Axis Ministries. Not only has he gone to schools and campuses here in the United States but internationally as well.”
Zimmerman said his message on Sunday would focus on presenting the evidence about the historic resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the cornerstone of the Christian faith. During his message Eaton will use many visual aids such as music and images to keep the audience engaged and plugged in. Eaton will be at both the 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services at Waxahachie Bible Church.
Following the second service at about 12:20 there will be an informal question and answer time where Eaton will sit down with people who want a friendly conversation in an informal setting. While the time will be to have questions answered, it will not be a forum for debate.
Zimmerman said Eaton’s presentation would help to strengthen the faith of current believers and will challenge others to reconsider again who Jesus is.
Zimmerman wants to encourage everyone to attend this important event.
