Waxahachie Special Olympics won first place at the Area 10 Annual basketball tournament that was held Feb. 22-23 in Grand Prairie, Texas. †

The Waxahachie team defeated teams from Carrolton-Farmerís Branch, Irving and Rockwall. †

They also won first place on Jan. 19 at the Annual Midlothian basketball tournament by defeating teams from Midlothian, Desoto and Cedar Hill. †

This is the third year they have won first place at both of these tournaments.

Waxahachie Special Olympics also have a Track and Field coming up.

The Waxahachie Special Olympics Track & Field season has begun. The Annual track meet will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at Lumpkins Stadium. †

Opening Ceremonies will begin approximately 9:45 a.m. †

The Track & Field team will also be competing in other local meets: Red Oak on March 20; Lancaster on April 9; Mabank on April 13; and Cedar Hill on April 26-27. †
