The Ellis County Master Gardeners held a Greenhouse Open House event Saturday at the Waxahachie High School greenhouse to provide a sneak peak at this year’s plant sale that will take place during the 2013 ECMG Lawn & Garden Expo on March 16 at the Waxahachie Civic Center. Master Gardner Jim Dockins with the Ellis County Texas AgriLife Extension Service said that by 10:30 Saturday morning, they already had almost 50 people drop by and visit the greenhouse. Dockins said that the the Master Gardners utilize one half of the greenhouse, while Waxahachie High School students and teachers utilize the other half. Dockins said that works out great, because each are learning something from the other, and sharing the resources certainly does cut costs. Plants grown by the Master Gardeners will be sold  during next Saturday’s Expo, which begins at 9 a.m. and runs through 5 p.m. See more details about the March 16 Expo in the special section included in today’s edition of the Daily Light.
