Billy Joe Cavender, 79, of Midlothian passed away on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2012, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, after having a massive stroke.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on Oct. 19, 1932, to Earnest Joe and Lou Willie Delk Cavender. Billy retired from Burlington Northern Railroad, where he held seniority for 40 years and at the time of his death he was employed for 12 years as fleet manager for E-Z Rent-a-Car located at DFW airport.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Griffith Cavender of Midlothian; children: Clifford and wife, Cathy of Burleson, Karen and Rusty Ingram of Midlothian and Sheila Carol Hedgepeth of Cedar Creek; sister, Helen Friesan of Oregon; four grandchildren: Ashley, John, Alexis and Stuart; and one great-grandson, Kayson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale Cavender; and brother, J.C. Cavender.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Midlothian Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mt. Peak Cemetery.
