Kevin LeRoy Sattler of White Settlement, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at his home. He was born Feb. 16, 1958, in Eureka, S.D., to LeRoy Sattler and Arlene (Spitzer) Sattler. Kevin was a tooling machinist for 28 years and loved his job. After graduating from Herreid High School in 1976 he continued his education in electronics, aircraft engine and airframe, 3D CAD and took flight training. He worked for Bobcat and various aircraft manufactures, such as Boeing, LTV and Lockheed. He loved building or repairing anything mechanical. As a youth he enjoyed football, hunting, fishing, camping, water skiing and “fixing things” with his Dad. Kevin was known to be very neat and conscientious in whatever he did. He was a kind hearted and generous person. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
Kevin loved his children more than anything in the world, he would do anything for them. His children will tell you he was the best Dad in the world!
Kevin Sattler was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Sattler in 1993.
He is survived by his two sons: Cody Sattler and Andy Sattler; one daughter: Leah Sattler; his father: LeRoy Sattler; one sister: Debra (Ernie) Weisbeck; one niece: Cassie (Tom) Haak; four nephews: Josh (Melissa) Weisbeck, Bryce (Anna) Weisbeck, Lee (Annie) Weisbeck and Mitch Weisbeck.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 4, 2012, at Ferris Heights Methodist Church with Pastors Carol Roberts and Dale Wilbanks officiating. There will be a visitation with the family following the service in the fellowship hall at the church.
A memorial service in South Dakota will be held at the Peace Lutheran Church in Herreid, at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 7, 2012 with Pastor Ramona Hayes officiating.
