The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce’s “Experience Midlothian” Community Expo has sold out all of its booths and is hoping for fair weather to expand outside the Midlothian Conference Center to accommodate local businesses and vendors on March 24 from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. Admission is free.

Midlothian Chamber of Commerce President Sara Garcia said this is the first year the chamber has ever sold out all of the booth locations for the event.

“This is the first we we’ve had a sell out,” Garcia said. “Last year we had about 80 vendors and that’s the highest we’ve ever gotten, but this year we have more than 85 vendors, not including all of the restaurants in our Taste of Midlothian area.”

Introduced last year, The Taste of Midlothian, will make its much anticipated return with seven restaurants committed with more to possibly sign up before March 16. This year’s smorgasbord features Oma’s Jiffy Burger, Ellis County Barbecue, Brookshire’s, Sonic, Chick-fil-a in Cedar Hill and Cotton Patch in Waxahachie.

The Taste area will be free to all attendees and will offer samples of food items from each of the restaurants attending.

A wide variety of businesses and vendors are represented in the more than 85 vendors attending, including home and garden, real estate, banks, local downtown businesses, gifts and fashion accessories stores, scented candles, computer service and equipment, hardware and tool stores, “big box” stores, local dance schools, martial and self-defense trainers, police and fire departments, the City of Midlothian and more.

“We’re super excited about this year’s event and hope that all of the community will come out to support small businesses,” Garcia said. “It is sure to be a great day of fun, door prizes, giveaways and interaction between local residents and businesses. Our goal this year is 2,000 attendees, so we hope everyone in the area will come out to enjoy this great event.”

Many of the businesses and vendors will be hosting door prize, giveaway contests and handing out promotional information.

Major sponsors for the “Experience Midlothian” Community Expo include Presenting Sponsor Approved Home Health Care and Event Sponsor Gerdau. Gold sponsors include Hilco, Oncor, Citizens National Bank of Texas, Living Magazine and EyeCare Associates of Texas.
