The spring contest season has begun for Toastmasters International and two local Toastmasters have started with a bang.  

Vic Dacey and Pat Moriarty competed in the  Area 55 Table Topics and International Speech Contest held  Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Dallas.  

Dacey won first place in the Table Topics contest while placing second in the International Speech contest.  

Moriarty won first place in the International Speech contest.   

They will now proceed to the Southern Division Contest which will be held April 14 at the Bill Priest Campus in downtown Dallas.  

Toastmasters is an organization that helps its members in the development of leadership and public speaking skills.  

They meet at 6:30 p.m. each Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Nicholas P. Sims Library.
