Another snow storm in North Texas forced the movement of several local high school sporting events.
The Waxahachie Lady Indians’ playoff game against Longview scheduled for Tuesday was moved to tonight at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens. Tip off is at 7 p.m. while the winner advances to the regional tournament Friday.
Longview is the district champ of 13-4A while the Lady Indians finished fourth in 16-4A but have rolled through the first two rounds of the playoffs.
Waxahachie upset the then No. 5 ranked West Mesquite in the bi-district playoffs before blowing past District 13-4A’s Marshall in the area round.
Last week’s area player of the week, Brittanya Sterns has dominated in the postseason as a junior. She scored 21 points in the area championship against Marshall while missing most of the fourth period as the Lady Indians had such a large lead.
Red Oak’s bi-district playoff game against Waco was moved to tonight at 6 at Corsicana High School. The Hawks are the No. 2 seed from District 15-4A while Waco is the No. 3 seed from 16-4A.
District 28-4A soccer action between Waxahachie and Corsicana will be played tonight at Lumpkins. Games start at 5:30.
All softball and baseball games for Waxahachie and Midlothian High School have been canceled and will not be played at a later date.
Red Oak softball action for Tuesday was also canceled and will not be made up.
Midlothian vs. Kennedale soccer action, boys and girls, has been rescheduled for Wednesday at Kennedale.
