WASHINGTON (AP) -A key Republican senator involved in bipartisan talks on health care says there's no way a breakthrough will happen before lawmakers' August recess.

Wyoming Sen. Mike Enzi said Thursday the bill is not ready for prime-time and he doesn't know of any way it can be completed before the break. Enzi is one of six lawmakers from the Senate Finance Committee three Democrats and three Republicans who have been negotiating on legislation.

The chairman of the Finance Committee, Democrat Max Baucus of Montana, and Republican counterpart Charles Grassley of Iowa, had both indicated Wednesday the group of six senators was making progress.

House and Senate committees had hoped to finish legislation before lawmakers' monthlong break.
