Waxahachie team tennis squad had a rough go against Alvarado suffering a 17-5 loss.

The lone win in doubles competition came from Hannah Bush and Danielle Calhoun as they paired up for an 8-3 win.

The squad did pick up four wins in singles play, two for the boys and two for the girls. No. 3 player Conrad Bates earned a hard-fought 6-4, 5-7, 10-7 win over Kelcey Van Zandt. He was followed by Cody Kendrick’s 7-5, 3-6, 10-6 victory two matches later.

The girls’ two wins came from No. 1 player Calhoun who cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win over Theresa Pena and No. 7 player Brittany O’Carroll who won 8-0.
